Job Summary:
Join our team to ensure smooth and accurate billing operations for a growing wellness practice. Responsibilities include verifying insurance benefits, submitting claims, resolving denials, posting payments, and assisting clients with billing inquiries. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of health insurance billing experience, strong organizational skills, and excellent communication abilities. Full-time, Monday–Friday, 100% remote.

Billing Assistant Key Job Responsibilities:
Timely verification of insurance benefits for new and established clients.
Partner with clients to understand their insurance coverage and benefits in a compassionate and easy-to-understand communication style.
Submit claims electronically.
Investigate and contest denied insurance claims.
Monitor and work diligently to collect client balances.
Inspect and resolve insurance adjustments.
Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to coordinate high-quality client care and seamless billing practices.
Attend mandatory staff meetings and training as directed by Small Victories Wellness Services.

Technology Skills: Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite, and Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Office Ally, and/or a similar claims processing program.
Preferred Education and Experience:
High School graduate or equivalent required.
1 – 2 years of health insurance billing experience required.
1 year of experience with customer service via phone and email is required.
Experience in psychology/psychiatry billing preferred.
Exposure to Electronic Medical Record systems preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
Hourly Rate: $22.00 – 25.00
Thirty (40) hours per week, hourly wage
